Job Purpose:
The aim of our Forecasting Center of Excellence is to establish industry-leading capabilities across the core area of Forecasting, business planning, and insight generation. It will demonstrate, reapply, and advance standard methodologies in capabilities and operations from Global and US more broadly across geographies and Industries. In the area of advanced analytics, the ambition is to accelerate the development and application of advanced analytic methodologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve business problems. The CoE also aims to scale and deploy these capabilities in a highly efficient manner so that continuous innovation can be pursued.
The is for a highly hardworking Pharma forecaster who will develop product-specific short-term and long-term forecasts models and maintain up-to-date forecast models, reflecting current data, information, assumptions. The ideal candidate will also identify key business issues that impact short-term and long-range product and market forecasts, clearly and pro-actively surface these issues, incorporate the results of primary research into the forecast model(s) to reflect anticipated risks and opportunities on sales outlook. In addition, this role will have responsibility to develop forecasts for focused therapeutic areas using patient based forecast models, and ensure alignment on forecast assumptions and other critical analytical assessments with client business partners including Marketing, Sales, Market Access and Pricing, Market Research, Global Marketing and Insight, Finance, and Sales Operations.
The candidate will also lead the client engagement, handle expectations, plan resourcing and dependencies and ensure detailed delivery.
work with our Forecasting CoE and help implement the best practices and other innovations including and not limited to application of cutting edge ML algorithms to gain deeper insights into forecasting and sales drivers, driving automation of existing systems to reduce data leakage etc,. Aimed at increasing the accuracy and efficiency of the models.
We are looking for someone with a mix of Market Research experience who has deep forecasting and quantitative technical skills combined with superior communication skills. As such, the ideal candidate will be both technically sound and have the ability to be a proactive internal consultant, adding value to Genpact's commercial organization beyond their analytical prowess through their understanding of secondary data, market research, and industry knowledge.
•    Ensuring objectivity of brand/therapeutic area forecasts through establishing objectives aligned around forecast accuracy.
•    Supports client strategy to ensure business and compliance needs are met
•    Coordinate and manage subordinates, facilitate interdepartmental communication and allocate task and resource as needed.
•    Creates smart goals, engages on continuous improvement and conducts appraisals for subordinates
•    Addressing operational concerns and issues, monitoring overall customer satisfaction.
•    Developing brand volume forecasts, both short-term and long-term, to feed into strategic and operational planning processes.
•    Sensitivity analysis to assist in opportunity identification and risk management.
•    Undertake strategic long-term brand and franchise forecasting and provide strategic perspective/guidance on portfolio and brand strategy, as well as new product introduction volume forecasting and guidance.
•    Develop a deep understanding of customers' data and analytical needs focusing on the customer-facing model leadership.
•    Break traditional patterns of thought by generating and recognizing imaginative, workable solutions to business situations and problems.
•    Review sales performance, insights data, key initiatives, and new launches with brand and customer teams to ensure robust plans are in place and being executed.
•    Develop and maintain key collaborative relationships with internal cross functional and external partners to initiate and obtain relevant data and analysis for forecast inputs.
•    Confidently present and defend forecast approach, methodology, assumptions, and output at the executive level.
•    Recommend and lead initiatives dedicated to the advancement and implementation of new forecast approaches and methodology.
•    Monitor the external environment to stay up to date on leading analytic capabilities, both within and outside of pharma, which can be applied within the organization.
Minimum qualifications
•    Relevant no. of years experience in analytics,  in Health Care and Lifesciences Industry leading product forecasting. In-depth knowledge of forecasting techniques and use of different forecast models and approaches.
•    Experience in forecasting new product launch is required.
•    Experience utilizing a range of analytics involving standard data in the Pharmaceutical Industry e.g. IQVIA (MIDAS, DDD NPA, Monthly Xponent), claims data (Truven, Marketscan), Epidemiological data etc
•    Good understanding of primary market research, advanced analytics, and competitive intelligence.
•    Strong technical experience in Time series modelling – Experience in Python/R/SAS 
•    Strong technical experience in MS Office – Must be an advanced user of PPT and Excel 
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    Ownership of tasks assigned without supervisory follow-up
•    Pro-activeness and enthusiasm to take on new challenges
•    Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations 
•    Proactive planner and can work independently to manage own responsibilities

Preferred qualifications
•    M Pharma (or B.pharm and relevant work experience), Masters in Business Administration
•    Master’s or (bachelor’s  and relevant work experience) in engineering 
•    Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other Quantitative subject area;
•    An interest in, and some exposure to, one or more of the following tools and techniques, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Data processing and basic statistical methods required.
•    Should be familiar with concepts of Machine Learning/Statistical Learning and AI and their application cases.
