Battling food insecurity with the power of digital

Genpact and Not Impossible: Feeding more people in more communities and improving health

genpact purpose not impossible

Connecting those who can help with those who need help

When 50 million people don't know where their next meal is coming from in one of the world's most affluent nations, a combination of technology and human ingenuity can make the impossible not impossible.

That's how Not Impossible created Bento, a text-based service that connects US families in need with nutritious, prepaid meals from nearby restaurants. And now, Genpact is strengthening its fight against hunger with our digital capabilities and process expertise.

Accelerating change

We're working to make Bento radically scalable by automating how the service matches people's dietary needs to local healthy food options. Our partnership is not only helping Bento reach its goal of serving 1 million meals a month but improving people's health too.

About Bento

Bento, formerly Hunger: Not Impossible, is a text-based service that connects individuals and families experiencing food insecurity with prepaid, nutritious, to-go meals from nearby restaurants. Bento is purpose-built to directly empower community organizations' efforts to improve the health and overall quality of life of community members by addressing food insecurity first.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis in March of 2020, Not Impossible launched the first-generation Bento platform, connecting people with convenient, nutritious, pre-paid meals from nearby restaurants in a stigma-free way, all through text messaging.

In its first year, Bento provided over 150,000 meals to people in need across seven pilot cities in the US (Los Angeles, Houston, Las Vegas, Oakland, Seattle, Chicago, and Memphis) with four new markets coming soon: New York City, Baltimore, Denver, and Dallas.
