Mitsuru Maekawa Vice Chairman - China & Japan Mitsuru Maekawa did his B.Sc in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tokyo, followed by an MS and PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, US. In 1976, he joined GE Nuclear Energy Operation in Tokyo, serving the roles of licensing engineer and nuclear fuel core management engineer. In 1986, he became the Scientific Representative of Asia for GE Corporate Research and Development. In 1988, he moved to the GE Medical Systems with various roles in Marketing, Sales and Customer Services. Before moving to Genpact Asia in Dalian, China, he was the General Manager of Japan Equipment Sales, driving the Japan Medical Operation to be the market leader in the equipment market, beating the tough local competitor, Toshiba Medical Systems.
