Michael Spence became one of our directors in April 2005. He is a senior advisor to Oak Hill Investment Management Partners and is the chairman of an independent commission on growth in developing countries. He is a professor of economics at the Stern School of Business of New York University and a professor emeritus at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University where he served as Professor of Management until August 2000 and Dean from 1990 to August 1999.
From 1975 to 1990, he was a professor of economics and business administration at Harvard Business School and the Harvard University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences from 1984 to 1990. In 2001, he received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Dr. Spence is also a director of MercadoLibre, Inc. |
